My Views: Charlton 3 Aston Villa 0

Two home wins in a row and a clean sheet - as you can imagine I was a very happy Charlton fan leaving the ground on Wednesday night. I was asked a question that night, it was when was the last time we won two home games in a row and when was the last time we kept a clean sheet?
I
t was difficult to answer. After a bit of research our last clean sheet was away to Liverpool when we won 1-0 back in April, our last home clean sheet was against Boro in May, which just goes to show that we don't keep clean sheets often which makes this result even better.

The last time we won two home games in a row was Feb 21st, against Blackburn (3-2) and Boro on March 13th (1-0) during last season, it only happened once.

So to kick off this season with two home wins is a great start for us. But what made

Villa did dominate the opening 20 minutes but fell to pieces once Jeffers scored his first for the club, it was great to see Jeffers score, I am a big fan of Jeffers and am hoping he will be our 20 goal a season striker that we have needed since Mendonca and Hunt. He took his first very well and his second was just as good but the more difficult of the two. He lived up to his name of fox in the box and I hope he continues this weekend against City.

And lastly a quick mention of Luke Young, great to see him score his first league goal at The Valley - I'm not sure how many he has scored for us but I do know that it wasn't his first.

A win against City would mean we have taken 9 points from 12 - which is championship form, but lets not get carried away.
