Charlton boss Phil Parkinson was full of praise for midfielder Therry Racon after his goal fired Charlton into the Southern Section semi-finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Racon won the ball from Anthony Grant just inside the Southend half and powered forward before unleashing a 25-yard drive into the top left-hand corner to out the Addicks in the next round. Parkinson told the club's official website: "In the first half, I thought we played well and in the second we became a bit scrappy in our play and didn't keep the ball as well. But we were able to get another clean sheet and it was a fantastic goal from Therry Racon that won it for us. "He scored in the first round against Dagenham & Redbridge so he's played a pivotal role in this competition and his shooting has been getting better. "I was speaking to him about it before the game because he had a couple of shots on Saturday and I've noticed in training that he's been hitting the target more. He got his rewards tonight."
