Thomas was arrested in Bournemouth two weeks ago but speaking after the Addicks' 2-0 home win over Leicester, boss Pardew said he had not been playing due to his on-field attitude.
'It is nothing to do with off the field activities, it is to do with the training ground and the discipline which is needed to get promotion, said Pardew.
'The player needs to learn very, very quickly the discipline at this club in terms of how we work, how we lose and how we congratulate each other when we win.
'There is a certain etiquette to that and that is why he is not involved at the minute.'
Hopefully this will see Thomas kick-start his career and he may return to first-team action in tonight's Carling Cup game against Luton.
