Charlton responded to boos at half time from some home supporters to maintain their twelve games unbeaten run at the Valley.
Alan Curbishley's side climbed to a points total of 47 as they came from a goal behind to salvage three points. It was a much needed victory for the home side after last week's cup exit at Middlesbrough followed by Saturday's 2-1 reverse at Fulham.
At the start of the Easter weekend, Curbishley had told press: "Friday (pre-match) press conferences have been hijacked by people who do not want to talk about the game; I'd like people to say that that our home form has been terrific. We've not lost here since New Year."
Meanwhile, the process to appoint the next England boss is expected to take a bit longer as Curbishley re-entered the fray.
After there had been widespread speculation within football that an announcement on Sven Goran Eriksson's successor was finally days away, that all changed over the weekend when the FA scheduled a second interview with the Charlton boss for this week.
