The Charlton boss said: "Darren has played his first full game for his country and did as well as he could have done. To be honest, England didn't have it all their own way - it's not as if they were playing one of the minnows. It was a tough old game against Uruguay and Darren did what he could with the service he got. He's learned a few things this week. He's played for England and been recognised for it."
