Charlton vs Swindon PREVIEW

Last updated : 03 January 2011 By Matt Fricker

At 5.05pm this afternoon, Charlton Athletic will return to action at The Valley for the first time since the 12th December and the 1- 0 defeat to Walsall.

A lot’s happened since then, we’ve played only three times, lost on penalties to Brentford after some incredible goal keeping, but over 90 mins, we’re unbeaten, and, if you had told me in October that we’d draw away against Brighton and Colchester, I’d have said good result, and I still do.

Swindon on the other hand are a team I thought would be right up there chasing promotion again, but things haven’t gone their way so far, and with the takeover going through on Friday, we should have the spirit to give our new board a first win of the New Year.

In terms of team news, I’m not sure if Paul Benson’s red card will be rescinded in time for him to play tonight, if it’s not though, I could see Phil Parkinson opting for a 4-3-3 formation to really attack a Swindon side that have let in 36 goals so far this season.

With this in mind, my prediction for tonight’s starting line up is:

GK: Rob Elliot

RB: Simon Francis

CB: Gary Doherty

CB: Christian Dailly ©

LB: Matt Fry

CM: Therry Racon

CM: Jose Semedo

CM: Johnnie Jackson

RW: Lee Martin

ST: Pawel Abbott

LW: Kyel Reid

SUBS: Ross Worner, Jonathan Fortune, Marcel Seip, Miguel Llera, Alan McCormack, Scott Wagstaff, Akpo Sodje

COME ON YOU ADDICKS!!!
