Ambrose has played a major part in The Addicks failed relegation fight under manager Alan Pardew but has already said that his future lies at The Valley.
Speaking after Monday night's defeat against Spurs, the England Under-21 international said, 'We knew we had to win and everyone gave 110 per cent, including the fans. I think we were just unlucky and everyone is gutted.
'I've experienced this before when I played about 10 minutes for Ipswich when it happened but it's a lot worse this time.
'The manager has said that we can all hold our heads up high and be proud of the fight that we put up to try to survive.
'Maybe it was a bit too little too late, and we're all devastated to be relegated, but we've got to look to the future now, try and keep our squad together and bounce straight back up."
