The 25-year-old, who is the top scorer in League One this season with 13 goals, has penned an 18-month contract and becomes manager Chris Powell`s first signing since taking charge at the Valley.
Powell told the club`s official website: "I am very happy to have a player of his calibre joining our squad."
Wright Phillips, who saw a move to Reading fall through a fortnight ago due to injury, added: "I`m delighted to join Charlton. It`s a club which I`m sure is heading in the right direction, and as soon as I spoke to the manager, I knew I wanted to be part of it."
