The Q and A session arranged by the Fans Forum for this Thursday 9th July has been postponed after Legal Advisers warned Richard Murray and Derek Chappell that it would not be appropriate for them to attend a public meeting at the current time.
The event had been fully booked with 300 season ticket holders due to attend and the session will be re-arranged as soon as the two Chairmen get clearance to talk freely with supporters on a range of issues.
Richard Murray said "We would like nothing more than the event to go ahead as planned, not least because we're well aware of the hard work put in by the fans' forum and Charlton staff to organise things, from dealing with the applications to planning the catering. The current situation means that we would have been unable to answer or contribute to many of the likely main points of discussion, which would have been wholly unsatisfactory."
He also added: "It might sound strange, but I hope fans take this as a positive thing, and of course we will rearrange the event the moment we are able to speak more freely."
Last year a similar question-and-answer event was postponed when Dubai based Zabeel Investments put in an offer to take over the Addicks which later fell through. Could an other takeover of the club be imminent and something positive come out of this postponement second time around. Addicks fans can only hope for a promising future. Watch this space...
